Meet the founder of Take Care Psychotherapy Services

Practice Owner, Therapist, Clinical Supervisor, Social Justice Advocate, Yoga Teacher, Former Athlete, Queer, Cis, Cat mom.

If you're a high achiever who feels unfulfilled despite your success, constantly on edge, or caught in the cycle of never feeling "good enough," you're in the right place. I specialize in helping ambitious professionals and perfectionists find genuine fulfillment beyond their accomplishments - because I’ve been there, too.

I started Take Care Psychotherapy Services in 2022 because I needed a change. I had been striving for “perfection” most of my life, but even when all of the boxes were ticked, my ducks in a row, and goals were reached, it just felt…empty.

I decided to take care of myself. Not just the stereotypical self-care. Real, genuine, caretaking of my mind, body, and spirit.

If you’re here, you’re ready to take that step too.

More about me:

Headshot of Julia Tehovnik, LCPC providing CBT to high achievers and ambitious professionals. Photo taken by Rose Yuen of Rose Boutique Photography in Chicago, IL.

I’m originally from Pittsburgh, PA and have been living in Chicago, IL since 2014.

I grew up in an ice rink watching my older brothers play hockey while I pursued figure skating, synchronized skating, as well as competitive dance like my older sister.

I started playing lacrosse in high school as a goalkeeper and continued as an NCAA Division III collegiate athlete.

I moved to Chicago to pursue a specialized education in Sport Psychology and stayed for the legendary house music that the city is known for, and for the community I’ve been welcomed into.

I currently live and work in the city and spend my weekends regulating my nervous system with live music and my yoga practice.
